21NiCrMo2

1.6523 is a case hardening steel. It is low-cost steel with excellent carburized properties. The nickel contributes to case toughness at high strength with above average core toughness.

Composition:

C	Si	Mn	p	s	Cr	Mo	Ni	B
0,17-0,23	0,40	0,65-0,95	0,035	0,035	0,40-0,70	0,15-0,25	0,40-0,70	–

Hot working:

Forging temperature range: 1240-850℃

Note: Heat to 1240 ℃. Do not forge below 850.

Heat treatment:

Hot working	Soft annealing	Heat treatment to obtain a certain structure	Heat treatment to obtain a certain tensile strength	Carburize	Core hardening	intermediate annealing	Surface hardening	Temper

Main application:

Gear components, bolts, arbors, bushes, coupling boxes
